Dan Duringer
Hi, I'm in Washougal,
Washington, in the SW part of the state, in the Portland, Oregon
area ... been up here since 1990 and it's a beautiful place. The
Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area begins at the east end of
town ... wonderful waterfalls, hiking and biking trails and rural towns.
By the time I was leaving high
school, I was pretty much involved in religious pursuits, and that
has continued through today. I'm active at
St. Thomas Aquinas
Catholic Church in Camas, and also with a variety of other
religious activities such as our
Be Not
Afraid prayer group, conferences, prayer events, music
opportunities (I play the guitar), pro life
issues and a promoter of just about any honest activity of a
spiritual nature. I haven't married as I didn't understand
that to be my vocation and am happily single.
Past and current Catholic (and other)
supernatural events such as Fatima and Medjugorie were pretty important as I
grew into adulthood. These have led me to a conviction that peace in the world
depends on our willingness to respect each other. For this reason I became
involved with the pro life movement, especially as it is applied
in a consistent way to the complex social problems the world
encounters today. I'm active in two regional pro life groups,
Life PAC of SW Washington and
Clark County Right to Life.
I graduated from Washington
State University with a BA in Human Development with a
Political Science minor, Magna Cum Laude. For employment I'm a
commercial driver mostly with Camas Public Schools driving school buses, but
also at Portland Airport with the parking shuttles. It has
been a wonderful privilege to work with the children and young adults
at Camas Schools. This
76islanders.org website I also help with.
